From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leader

1988

The Beginning

Kensite was founded by three John's - John Murray, John Kennedy and John Muldoon.

1990's

A History of Innovation

During the early 90's, Kensite cements its history in innovation, being the first company in the UK to import plastic chemiloos from the USA and introducing them to the UK market.

2000's

Service is Our Business

Kensite became known for brilliant, reliable service, becoming a trusted partner to many local construction businesses.

2010's

Growing Local

Kensite cements itself as a provider of dependable site cabins and toilet facilities to construction companies around Greater Manchester, with an expanding fleet and growing its yard in Atherton, Greater Manchester.

2019

A Turning Point

Kensite is acquired by Craig Ainscough, of the Wigan based Ainscough family synonymous with the hire industry, marking a new era for Kensite of significant growth and investment into its hire fleet.

2020

Kensite Backs Think Hire

Kensite makes a multi million pound investment into Think Hire, a renewable energy provider, taking the business national for the first time.

2023

Business Transformation

Kensite becomes a full site solutions provider, expanding beyond welfare and accommodation into the full site requirements, while its own fleet continues to grow and upgrade, reaching over 2000 units.

2024

Sustainability and Excellence

Kensite remains at the forefront of industry innovation, this time with a new range of site accommodation boasting A+ energy efficiency, making it the most energy efficient and reliable portable site accommodation solutions on the market.

2026 and Beyond

Digital Transformation and Service Scaleability

With an expert team, full operational upgrade and fleet investment made over the last five years means Kensite's once local service is scalable and well received by larger SME and contractors, who benefit from Kensite's roots in great service while operating a faster hire-to-delivery turnaround, best quality units and a stronger customer experience. The 'Kensite Standard' is embedded across the business, enabling us to grow across the UK, making Kensite today a market leading temporary workspace provider.

Chloe took the helm of Kensite to modernise and grow a respected family business with over 35 years of history. Since becoming Managing Director, she has led a full transformation from culture and systems to fleet and brand, building a team and operation designed for scale.

Her leadership blends strategic vision with practical drive. She’s implemented new technology, strengthened customer relationships, and championed The Kensite Standard -  a clear commitment to quality, service, and continual improvement in the welfare industry. Under Chloe’s guidance, Kensite has grown into a forward-thinking, values-led business with strong foundations and an ambitious future. With a career starting in financial control, her grounding in the numbers gives her a sharp commercial edge, while her experiences growing up in the family business of property development in Bolton, mean she understands what people on site really need.

Chloe’s focus is on building a company that can thrive long beyond her - one that delivers sustainable growth, innovation, and opportunity while remaining true to its people-first roots. She is straight talking, and relentless in her pursuit of the highest standards, uncompromising on quality.

Craig Ainscough
Chairman

Craig brings a unique blend of craftsmanship and commercial insight to Kensite. He began his career as a joiner, specialising in high-end cabinetry and luxury property development, before moving into business investment and growth strategy. That early attention to detail and commitment to quality still shape his approach today.

As Chairman, Craig provides the long-term vision and strategic oversight behind Kensite’s expansion - guiding the business through its next stage of growth while safeguarding the reputation and legacy built over 35 years. His focus is on creating sustainable value, nurturing a strong leadership team, and ensuring Kensite continues to grow as a scalable, independent business.

Craig’s role is one of stewardship; strengthening the company for the future, supporting innovation and efficiency.

Nathan McGuinness
Depot Manager

“Calm, capable, and steady - the one who keeps Kensite grounded and running right.”

Nathan joined Kensite with years of experience leading large-scale depot and project operations across the UK hire industry. Before joining, he spent several years with Wernick Hire, rising through their graduate scheme, where he managed one of the company’s major depots following its acquisition of AVDanzer. Earlier, he delivered more than 40 COVID-19 test centres nationwide - one of the largest accounts in the sector at the time - proving his ability to handle complex, high-pressure projects from start to finish.

At Kensite, Nathan oversees depot performance, installations, and logistics, making sure every cabin leaves site to The Kensite Standard - safe, on time, and ready to use. Calm under pressure and consistent in his approach, he’s the steady presence that keeps operations seamless.

Nathan’s dependability and quiet confidence complement the fast-paced drive of Chris and Jake, bringing a measured focus that helps the whole team perform at its best. He’s also charged with leading Kensite’s next stage of growth - integrating smarter, AI-led systems and new technology across operations to improve efficiency, traceability, and performance.

He’s hands-on, commercially minded, and meticulous about quality - the kind of leader who earns trust quickly and keeps it.

Nick Arnold

Nick's solid track record in account development and business growth in the sustainable hire sector including Think Hire and Prolectric, brings a breadth of experience which means he’s not just selling cabins - he’s aligning solutions, adding value, and thinking ahead of the curve.

Nick joined Kensite to spearhead strategic relationships and to elevate our service offering beyond the basics. Nick is the interface between our business, our suppliers and our customers. He’s the guy who ensures our service doesn’t just meet expectations - it anticipates them. Chris Murdoch

Few people understand the reality of life on site like Chris. Having started his career as a bricklayer, he’s experienced first-hand how much good welfare matters to keeping a team comfortable, safe, and motivated.

When Chris joined Kensite, he brought his can-do attitude and natural leadership to the yard team. It didn’t take long for his potential to shine - within six months, he was promoted to Yard Manager.

Today, Chris is the heartbeat of the yard. He makes sure every cabin leaves the depot on time, clean, compliant, and built to The Kensite Standard - so when it lands on site, our customers can get straight to work.

Jake Ainsworth
